Dog diseases


Symptoms: usually begin 4 to 10 weeks after the estrus. Signs are variable: lethargy, polyuria (excessive urination), polydipsia (excessive drinking), vomiting, usually without fever, sometimes purulent vaginal discharge. Relative hard to diagnose without X-ray examination or diagnostic laparoscopy (surgical).


Symptoms: involve one or more mammary glands. Affected mammary glands are swollen, warm and painful with hemorrhagic or purulent milk. Sometimes, other clinical signs, such as fever, discomfort and inapettence, are not present 


Symptoms: strong abdominal contractions for 2 to 3 hr without passage of a puppy, active labor for 2 to 3 hr without delivery, discomfort, obvious pain at the end of gestation, black or hemorrhagic vaginal discharge, prolonged gestation

Elbow dysplasia

Symptoms: lameness, pain, discomfort, limb deformities, usually develops between 4 and 8 months of age 


Symptoms: ataxia, discomfort, asymmetry of the pelvic limbs at about 6 months of age with progression over 1 to 2 years of age
