Allergic pneumonitis

Symptoms: chronic cough (mild to severe, productive or non-productive), dyspnea, exercise intolerance. Fever is usually absent. 

Cause: pulmonary hypersensitive reaction (caused by drugs, inhaled allergens). Poorly documented and explained.

Duration: few days

First aid: elimination of offending agent, glucocorticoids

Urgency: immediately

Prevention: none (or avoiding the offending agents)

 Treatment: glucocorticoids, bronchodilatators, antibiotics, soft palatable diet

Therapy success: 70 to 100%

Convalescence: few days
